Becoming a different person, a version of herself that people wouldn’t WLK all over, didn’t have to mean changing how she dressed. Only it did. If she still wore pastels and polka dots, no one would ever think Betty Cooper had CHANGED. So she splurged on a new wardrobe, and that first day of school was a vision in ripped blue jeans, ( faux ) leather boots ( bad girl or not, she refused to HURT animals ) and her brother’s old army jacket, tied above her waist… Her dad had dropped his toast on the floor when he’d seen her that morning, to say the least.
She hoped the outfit was successful, that it screamed, even when her voice trembled, there was no more nice Betty.
She stopped short at a name change though. This wasn’t a teen movie where the nerdy girl suddenly got hot over the summer.
She stopped at her locker; the looks she got were cursory but not entirely shocked. Her brows scrunched together, her thoughts deepening. Just wait until someone tried to ask her for a favor! Just they wait!
It wasn’t until she SLAMMED the locker shut that she realized Sweetpea had been standing there, talking to her, for the past minute and a half. She hadn’t been listening… so… off to a great start! “ Huh? What? ”
