dean takes a step around from where he was standing in front of the car. this is mostly so that he can give the blonde a look. he knew his fair share about cars & had fixed his own since it still belonged to his dad. this car — however — was one of those new fangled hybrids. what dean would consider to be something that a suburban family would drive. normally not him. as much as it had pained him to seek help with it he simply hadn’t taken the time to learn about this new breed of vehicle. “ — is the bad news that there’s a really old sock stuck in the vents or something ? ”
betty laughed then, big and loud. she shook her head, no. ❝ not an old sock, funnily enough –– don’t get me wrong, there’s some really weird crap in this car, but no socks. ❞ she gestured at the hood of the car with a wrench she held in a free hand. ❝ so the thing with this model is one of the manufacturing issues it’s had since it basically hit the market is how prone it is to overheating. it was never dangerous though, so it never got like, discontinued or anything. mechanics like me and my dad just had to find ways around it. ❞
❝ so I can install a part for you pretty easily and you’ll be on your way. it’s not even that expensive! –– that’s the good part. bad part is we’d have to order it from the next town over, which will probably take a few days –– at most a week. on the plus side, though, the great news is we have some of the best burgers and shakes here in riverdale! ❞
